FAQ

  • How are the silver organics made?
All the organics in my jewellery are cast in solid sterling (925) silver. They are not electroformed or PMC (precious metal clay). The method used to make the capture the natural form of the objects I use is called the lost-wax process. To create the finished casts, molten silver is poured into a mould that has been created by means of a wax copy of an original organic item or items. Once the mould is made, the wax copy is melted and drains away to leave a space into which the silver is poured; eventually making a replica of the original form.
  • Shipping, Customs and Import Charges
If packing and shipping your new jewellery is less than the stated price on the website, I will refund the difference. If you order a bespoke item then it will be sent as soon as it is ready, this includes waiting for hallmarking. All orders in the UK are sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery. If you order outside of the UK, including areas outside the mainland, then delivery times will vary, according to your postal service. International orders for countries outside the European Union may be subject to customs duty charges. This is a tax that you may have to pay for importing foreign goods into your country of residence. For current rates I recommend getting in touch with your local customs department, as you are responsible for these costs. (A more comprehensive shipping and returns policy can be found on the website) Customs and import charges Due to the UK leaving the EU, you may have to pay any necessary customs, import fees, and taxes when your item arrives. These import charges are generally based on the item's price, weight, dimensions, and country of origin, as well as any taxes, duties, and fees added by your country. All other countries outside the UK will already have to pay customs and import charges. As a customer of Su France Designs, it’s your responsibility to check which customs and import charges may apply, and to pay them; so, it's a good idea to check with your country's customs office for more specific details.
  • Timeframes
If an item is in stock then it will be sent, where possible, within 5 working days of payment. If your item is bespoke, then it may take up to 5 weeks, spending on casting, making and hallmarking. You can pay an extra fee for expediting hallmarking, should ypou wish to.
  • Jewellery care
Please note that each product is handmade by Su France and therefore unique. Su's work is organic, so variations in form are part of the distinctive character of the work. Silver jewellery may be quickly dipped into 'silver dip’ cleaning solution. Then, washed well in warm, soapy water afterwards, and thoroughly dry on a soft cloth. This removes chemicals, pollutants or abrasives that build up from wearing the jewellery. Good storage and regular (but light!) cleaning of your silver pieces, will help to keep the jewellery looking lovely for years to come.
