Inspiration

Our home is a lovely Victorian barn,  and while its not the one depicted here, barns always give me inspiration. I take photos of them in holidays to the Scottish highlands and those dotted around the North East of England, where they provide shelter at the side of fields. Their images often populate my camera roll and then printing table too.

This print, a quality giclee reproduction of my original collagraph, shows a traditional stone barn, it's walls and slanted tile roof show its age and history, while a favourite seedhead, nipplewort grows around the doorway. The red door, a lovely pop of colour is something I recently read futher into. Apparently, a red coloured front door has long been associated with gracious hospitality

The red door opens to...well you can tell that story!

From her rural studio, Su France's prints unearth nature's overlooked details and nature's cycles, linking viewers to tranquil moments. A 2022 Arts Council England grant supported the development of her sustainable, ethical creative process celebrating the untamed.

There are four barn prints in this series, which compliment each other beautifully, if you wish to set up your own a gallery wall.
